E-Inclusion Programme

With the integration of Home-Based Learning (HBL) as a regular part of schooling experience, we want to ensure our pupils have access to a computer for self-directed learning.

As part of a 90th Anniversary initiative to reach out to the community and spread kindness, we have collaborated with Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and non-profit organisation Project D.I.P to promote digital inclusion among our P1 pupils from low income households.

36 Primary 1 FAS pupils are provided with a laptop to start their digital journey. Beyond providing the laptops, we believe that a laptop is only of value if the child knows how to use it to add value to his/her life. Hence, a digital literacy workshop was also arranged for these pupils to empower them with basic digital literacy skills and online etiquette. A team of volunteers, including some of our P5 Infocomm CCA members signed up as E-mentors to facilitate our pupils in this workshop.

The P1 pupils were very excited at the sight of their laptop and were eager to learn from their E-mentors. At the end of the session, they also expressed their gratitude by making them an appreciation card. As a community, we hope to bridge the gap of digital divide between those with access to technology and those without.
